Fellow Eco Friends,

  • Ever wonder how to get your children Earth friendly eco clothing without breaking the bank?

  • Want to provide clothes for your baby while reducing your family’s carbon footprint?

  • Are there boxes full of children’s clothes in storage you want to get rid of and let another family make new memories with your children’s gently used clothes?

  • Want to SAVE money?!

  • Then there’s no better place to go than a mom 2 mom sale!

Last fall, I was rummaging through 5 years worth of girls clothing to sell at a local Mom to Mom sale.  Surprisingly, because I thought I didn’t have the will power to get rid of anything, I only kept my daughters’ “coming home from the hospital” outfits.  It was bittersweet going through their adorable clothes remembering special moments: 1st smile, trip to the zoo, first steps, family vacations, etc. and also thinking back to when they were little and parenting was so new.

To avoid getting on the “Hoarding:  Buried Alive” tv show on TLC, I wanted to pass these baby items on to other children. I know other families will have great memories with those items. The funds from selling our girls’ items will be used to buy gently used, sometimes even new, eco clothing for our new baby boy. Eco clothes doesn’t necessarily have to be made from bamboo or organic cotton. Eco clothing can just be clothes reused from a family that was kind enough to either give to your family or sell at an extremely deep discount to you at a mom-to-mom sale. These are great ways to recycle things in and around your house that just don’t get much use with the kids anymore. Then, cyclically, use the proceeds to buy clothing and toys from mothers that don’t have a need for them anymore either.  Find your nearest mom-to-mom sale or start your own today!

What is a Mom 2 Mom Sale?

A mom to mom sale is a large indoor sale where moms can rent tables to sell their
Some Mom to Mom Sales are organized to benefit a church, school, child care center, municipality, or other non-profit organization.  Other Mom 2 Mom Sales are organized by for-profit businesses to give moms the opportunity to sell at a large sales event.  Each venue can have a different set of rules.  Some sales allow moms who sell new products, crafts or services to rent a table.  These moms are usually classified as vendors.  Other sales only allow moms to sell resale items.  Many Mom to Mom Sales have a limit of new item vendors to keep their mom 2 mom sale as a place where moms come to sell what their families no longer need and purchase what their families need now.

Many Mom to Mom Sales have large item rooms or big ticket rooms.  These rooms are filled with large items for babies through teen such as strollers, travel systems, cribs, bassinets, bouncers, exersaucers, swings, ride on toys, as well as items that are too big to fit easily at seller’s tables such as desks, play yards, play structures, play kitchens, play workbenches, furniture, and other large toys and gear.

My Tips for a Successful Mom 2 Mom Shopping Trip:

  • Get there early (Depending on the popularity in the area) – I usually get there 30 minutes ahead of time.

  • Bring your own tote to drag the massive amounts of you’re about to buy.

  • Have cash of varying bills, $1’s, $5’s, & $10’s

  • Don’t be afraid to bargain down the price

  • If you’re looking for big ticket items, shop their first

  • Leave your strollers at home, most sales don’t allow strollers for the first hour
